FFC manufactures Aircraft Fuel Cells with FFC’s proprietary multi-layered nitrile rubber compound.

The four major components of this TSO-C80 approved material are

• an inner layer of nitrile rubber that retards permeability,

• an integrated transparent fuel vapor barrier that eliminates seepage,

• a strong, tightly-woven nylon fabric that provides construction strength, and

• an ozone-resistant nitrile rubber outer surface.

FFC carefully handcrafts each fuel cell, and autoclaves it with controlled heat and pressure creating the required cross-linking of these compounds ensuring a seam-to-seam bond. Rubber nipple components are also manufactured from nitrile rubber and externally reinforced to prevent clamp damage.

All metal ring components are designed by our internal engineering staff. They meet or exceed the functional requirements of our various fuel cell constructions.
